Update: The extra cast have now been confirmed as Michael Caine as seasoned spy Finn McMissile, Emily Mortimer as spy-in-training Holley Shiftwell, Jason Isaacs as spy jet Siddeley, Joe Mantegna as Grem, Peter Jacobson as Acer, and Thomas Kretschmann as Professor Z.

No sooner was the new poster unveiled this morning than we heard rumours of a spanking-new trailer for Cars 2, and sure enough it screeched to a halt in our metaphorical forecourt soon afterwards.

Directed by John Lasseter with Brad Lewis, it's the further, globe-trotting adventures of Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and his mate Tow Mater (Larry the Cable Guy). But the big news is that that's Michael Caine voicing British super spy Finn McMissile, who will therefore have a touch of the Harry Palmer about him, and not simply be a James Bond clone as some had suggested.

Cars 2 is out on July 22, 2011, in the UK, and June 24, 2011. Yes, Pixar's showing blatant favouritism to their home turf in release dates again. We're going to have to have a word; we can't possibly be expected to keep waiting an extra month for their films.

Hellboy II 吹替降板（Johann Kraus 役）

【Hellboy II の ヨハン・クラウス（肉体がなくエクトプラズムのみなので特殊な気密服で身を固めている御仁）の声をトーマス・クレッチマンがあてる予定だったが、ギレルモ・デル・トロ監督の説明によれば技術的な問題で降板、セス・マクファーレン（アニメ「ファミリー・ガイ」製作監督＆吹替）に変更していたということが判明】

セスはドイツ語にも堪能—ケルンに留学してたし—、それに、声をあててたステューウィやブライアンを聞いていればわかるように、非常に知的な声。トーマス吹替で問題になったのは、彼の声—彼が悪いわけじゃないよ—がヨハンのガス・維持装置の音声効果とまったく同じ音域帯で、どう演技や演出を変えてみても音声が相殺されてしまうことだった。僕の一存でセスに決めた。あのすごい多芸多才ぶりは満点としか。活気あるキャラクターに仕上げてくれたよ。ピーター役と同じことをやってるわけじゃなくて—彼は今までに出会った声優の中でも最も多芸多才な天才だよ、僕が思いもよらなかったヨハン像だった。彼の当意即妙な芸人魂には恐れ入るばかりだ。作品を見てもらえれば、みんな異存はないと思う。

彼は完璧だと思う。

注：スチューウィ、ブライアン、ピーターはアニメ「ファミリー・ガイ」でマクファーレンが声をあてているキャラ。それぞれ、なぜかクイーンズイングリッシュをしゃべる天才赤ん坊、大学出の天才犬、主人公のおっさん。「ファミリー・ガイ」は大雑把に言えば、「シンプソンズ」系のブラックな風刺コメディアニメ。

Seth also speaks fluent German- he studied in Cologne and -if you heard him voice Stewie and Brian- has a wonderfully educated voice. The problem with tha casting of Thomas was that his voice -through no fault of his own- was in the EXACT range as the gas / mechanical sound FX of Johann and came out monotone no matter what performance and direction we tried. Seth is my decision. 100% as I find his versatility amazing. He brings life and excitment to the character. He's not doing Peter- this guy is one of the most talented and versatile voice actor I've ever met and his Johann made a massive difference in my heart. I thank heavens for his availability and showmasnhip. If we could only be judged by what we've done no one would wonder out of his/her range and expand.

He's perfect for me.
